Position timing: May 2026 to August 2026

Councillor Rachel Chernos Lin’s office is seeking a motivated and organized summer student to support day-to-day operations and community engagement initiatives.

Are you a university student interested in government, public service, or political science? This is a great opportunity to join a busy municipal office and gain firsthand experience in local government. Gain valuable, hands-on experience in municipal government while making a real difference in the community.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide general clerical and administrative support

  • Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate staff

  • Assist with filing and office organization

  • Photocopy and distribute materials to the community

  • Maintain and stock office supplies

  • Support community events and outreach activities

  • Take on special assignments as requested by the Councillor

 

What we’re looking for:

  • University students with an interest in government, public policy, or political science

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends

  • Familiarity with Ward 15, an asset

Timing: May 2026 to August 2026 (the position runs until end of August) 
Location: The position is full-time and based out of the Councillor’s office at Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen Street West. Some evening and weekend work will be required locally in Ward 15.

Hourly rate: $17.81/hour
