Councillor Rachel Chernos Lin’s office is seeking a motivated and organized summer student to support day-to-day operations and community engagement initiatives.
Are you a university student interested in government, public service, or political science? This is a great opportunity to join a busy municipal office and gain firsthand experience in local government. Gain valuable, hands-on experience in municipal government while making a real difference in the community.
What you’ll do:

Provide general clerical and administrative support

Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate staff

Assist with filing and office organization

Photocopy and distribute materials to the community

Maintain and stock office supplies

Support community events and outreach activities

Take on special assignments as requested by the Councillor
What we’re looking for:

University students with an interest in government, public policy, or political science

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Ability to work evenings and weekends
-
Familiarity with Ward 15, an asset
Timing: May 2026 to August 2026 (the position runs until end of August)
Location: The position is full-time and based out of the Councillor’s office at Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen Street West. Some evening and weekend work will be required locally in Ward 15.
Hourly rate: $17.81/hour
